LYCEAM STAGE

Outside the Lyceum as Marlee and Becca have so kindly stated it is bare, dull and white. I believe the mural should be planned first but should be made by the artistic students at our school. The importance of the students creating the collage is that, it shows the public what this school is capable of doing while also incorporating the teachers and how they have shaped the students. The teachers at this school are unlike any others and I believe they deserve to be recognized as well because of their positive influences.

I came to the conclusion that the mural was the best idea because it not only faces the street where cars would look at it everyday but also because at our school there is a major lack of art and that it not a good representation of our bold school. On the wall I picture the reflection of the man (stepping out of the pond and reaching with one arm stretched towards the wall) and who he aspires to be. I think it is crucial to show his aspirations by showing the resources that he has access to by making the man that is coming out of the pond out of recycled computer-istic materials as Marlee suggested. By incorporating the use of recycled material on the mural itself shows how the reflection of the man connect but also makes the mural pop and be the second place of focus of the whole area. The Lyceum has been the stage of many performances as well as guest speakers so it only makes sense to make the outside of it a stage as well.
